Janet Yamada Soto, P.T., FAAOMPT
Janet Yamada Soto received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical College of Virginia. She received certification from the Kaiser Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program in Hayward, where she taught from 1983 to 1997. She founded Berkeley Physical Therapy in 1984. She specializes in musculoskeletal disorders. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapists, is a member of the Special Projects Committee of the Institute for the Advancement of Orthopedic Physical Therapy, and has participated in various research projects in physical therapy.
Allan Horwitz, P.T., FAAOMPT
Allan Horwitz received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1975. In 1983 he received certification from the Kaiser Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program, where he has been teaching since 1985. He specializes in musculoskeletal disorders, especially spinal care, shoulder rehabilitation, and foot disorders, including fabrication of orthotics. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Physical Therapists. He also consults and teaches seminars in office ergonomics.
Diane Kern, P.T.
Diane Kern graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut in 1976. She has a wide range of experience, from treating athletes at the professional, college and high school levels, to having a strong geriatric base. Her special interests include working with athletic injuries, especially runners, aquatic exercise, and postural and balance problems.
Scott Smith, P.T.
Scott Smith graduated with a Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences, an osteopathic- based school. His professional interests include treating spinal disorders, repetitive strain and sports related injuries, using ergodynamic, posture and yoga based approaches. His training includes Pilates and postural strengthening, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, and agility and balance training. Scott es fluente en espanol.
Monika Mann, P.T.
Monika Mann graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Northridge in 1981. She has taken many continuing education classes in orthopedic physical therapy including a year-long course in the Australian Approach to Manual Therapy. She has worked extensively in out-patient orthopedic settings. Monika also teaches seminars throughout the country in Spanish for Health Care Professionals, and is fluent in Spanish. She specializes in combining hands-on care with patient education and individually-tailored therapeutic exercise programs, so that her clients can safely return to activity as soon as possible after injury. Monika has also taught internationally on physical therapy topics.
